The Shine DomeHail Damage Rectification
Heritage Advice After the huge hail storm in Canberra in January 2020, many buildings in Canberra were heavily damaged. One of those buildings was the Heritage Listed Shine Dome, part of the Academy of Science. This building is a wonderful example of dome architecture and was designed by Roy Grounds in the 1950s. The task to undertake repair of the roof was a delicate one. EMA provided heritage advice on the proposed rectification work to the roof, including the new coppering of the roof and fixing the internal damage to skylights. |
