EMA Offers a full range of architectural services with additional expertise Heritage & Disability Access. Eric Martin has developed a national and international reputation for his work in the areas of access and heritage buildings. EMA can provide the services of access consultant or heritage consultant on your project as well as complete architectural project services from design and documentation to project management.
Ideally located in Canberra, EMA has current projects across Australia. We aim to provide quality design solutions and practical advice, based on clearly stated information so that it is easily understood by clients, fellow professionals and the community. The practice is small and focuses on providing speedy responses to the needs of clients. Eric is experienced at managing work remotely, relying on sound planning and modern technology to help them excel in the profession.
In 2019 Eric Martin was awarded the Australian Institute of Architects' Professional Practice Award. Eric is the principal of Eric Martin and Associates. He has more than 45 year's experience as a professional architect in the private and public sectors. He has extensive experience in managing a wide range of projects. Eric has developed a national and international reputation for this work in the areas of accessibility and heritage buildings. Eric is a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and is currently a Member of the Australian Institute of Architects National Access Work Group, the Institute's National Practice Committee, is the Institute's Representative on the UIA Region IV International Committees on Access and Heritage and the Australian Building Codes Committee.

Geraldine established the administrative and project management basis of the office. She now takes an executive role in the company providing strategic analysis of company performance and working on projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our office systems. Geraldine is also a writer, animator and artist, and you can see her personal work on her website.

Can has over 20 years of experience in all stages of projects from initial concept design through documentation and contract administration. Can has worked on a range of projects including residential, commercial and heritage conservation projects both in Australia and overseas. Can has worked for the NSW and ACT Heritage Offices assessing development applications, reviewing heritage assessments and preparing heritage policy and advice. Can was awarded 4th prize in the Canberra Light Rail Ideas Competition in 2014. He has worked on projects for the adaptive reuse of historic buildings in Belgenny Farm, Camden NSW, a range of projects for local councils and the Rolfe Car Dealerships and preparing heritage impact advice for regional hospital redevelopments in NSW.

Bronwynne Jones B Arts (Hons), Grad Dip QFA Bronwynne joined us after running her own Strategic Consultancy firm Lookout Futuring Services for ten years and twenty years experience as a Change Manager/Policy Manager in the Commonwealth Government. As well as the day-to-day management of the administrative team, Bronwynne provides research expertise, client liason and ensures compliance with our established quality management system. Bronwynne has a creative side too, her outlet being her fashion business Thunder Thighs Fashion. |

Paul Martin B Arts (Visual Arts), Dip (Building Design), Dip & Cert IV Access Consulting Paul has completed courses in advanced Revit and provides technical support to the practice. He has a Diploma in Building Design and a Diploma and Cert IV in Access Consulting. He works closely with Eric to develop the practical expertise required to qualify as an Access Consultant. He is currently an Associate Member of the ACAA. Paul is also an accomplished artist, you can see his artistic portfolio on his website. |
