ERIC MARTIN & ASSOCIATES
In 1998, after a long career in
both the
public and private sectors working as a professional architect, Eric
Martin
established his own architectural practice. Joining him in the
practice is
Nicholas Goodwin, as his associate. EMA Offers a full range of
architectural
services with additional expertise in Architectural Conservation,
Heritage
& Disability Access. Eric has developed a national and
international
reputation for his work in the areas of access and heritage buildings.
Ideally located in Canberra, EMA
has
current projects across Australia. We aim to provide quality design
solutions
and practical advice, based on clearly stated information, so that it
is easily
understood by clients, fellow professionals and the community. The
practice is
small and focuses on providing speedy responses to the needs of
clients. Both
Eric and Nicholas are experienced at managing work remotely, relying on
sound
planning and modern technology to help them excel in the profession.

Eric is the
principal of the firm, the Managing Director and the Quality Manager.
He has more than 35 years experience as a professional architect in the
private and public sectors. He has extensive experience in managing a
wide range of projects. Eric has developed a national and international
reputation for his work in the areas of access and heritage buildings
Eric is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects.

Associate
Nicholas Goodwin, M
B Env, B Arch, Member RAIA
Nicholas is an associate of the firm with more than 20 years experience
as an architect. While he has been involved in a broad range of
architectural and conservation projects, throughout Australia, he has a
very strong interest in the adaptive use of buildings. Nicholas has
also undertaken extensive research into timber buildings and their
development in Australia. In 1996 his Masters Thesis on this topic won
him the inaugural Sydney Cove Authority's prize for best thesis.

Glen Hatherly, Architectural
Technicians Certificate
After graduating
Glen worked for many architectural companies including the Cox Group in
Canberra, Daryl Jackson Alastair Swayn, Allen Jack and Cottier and AMC
Projects. Working as a draftsman in the Canberra district for
over 20 years Glen has gained extensive experience and intimate
knowledge of construction and design in many different fields. His
experience covers a wide spectrum of building types. He has been
the project architect on many projects and was the site architect for
the $42m Bruce Stadium Upgrade and $200m Section 84 retail
development. Glen joined Eric Martin and Associates in 2007. |

Manager
Michael Dunn, Adv Dip
Building Design
Michael is the
office CAD Manager. As well as drafting, his responsibilities include
keeping the office computer system in check and managing the CAD
system. Michael completed an advanced diploma in building design in
2002. He has a general interest in computing, 3D modelling and
rendering and has successfully implemented Autodesk Revit as the CAD
program of choice in the office. |

Administration Manager
Geraldine Martin, MCW, Grad
Dip Lib, B Sc
Geraldine
manages a growing administration support team for the practice. She
comes from a 15 year public sector career in Human Resource Management
and Corporate Support. Geraldine has extensive knowledge and experience
in computer applications, which extends EMA's professional
capabilities, enhancing our ability to deliver 'user friendly' reports. |

Nathan Watt
Nathan Watt joins
our team as our Student Architect. Nathan recently took out the
John Redmond Prize at the 2009 Australian Institute of Architects
Awards. This is awarded for the highest achievement during the
first
three years of architectural study. |

Bronwynne Jones
Bronwynne joins us
from her own Strategic Consultancy firm
Lookout Futuring Services to provide research and large document
services for the practice. Bronwynne has twenty years experience as a
Change Manager in Government and ten years experience running her own
business. |

Dianne McGowan
Dianne manages the
office's accounts, billing, purchases and invoices. Dianne has
worked as an accounts manager for the last 10 years in the community
services sector. |

Marisa Martin, B Comms

Marisa takes care
of the office's graphic and web needs, administrating the website and
updating the marketing boards seen in the office. Marisa has a
keen interest in websites and graphics and utilises those talents
outside of EMA as well as during her part-time work here. |

and Sponsorships Manager
Jennifer Goodwin
Jennifer Goodwin
joined the EMA team as Marketing Manager in 2000 and assists with
general administration. Jennifer has a Bachelor in Social Science
Degree in Economics and Law, with major emphasis on Business Law and
Management, and Marketing. Jennifer is also responsible for managing
our sponsorships and donations. EMA has developed a Donations Policy so
as to target our donation to areas of our community that our practice
is involved with on a commercial basis. In doing this we feel we are
giving back to the areas that support us. Jennifer works part-time and
enjoys EMA's flexible work policy which allows a balance between work
and family commitments. |
